Cytolon initiates global development of DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM
Cytolon AG announced a further strategic development of its CordMatch® platform: the Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM.
Berlin, October 31, 2011. Cytolon AG announced today a further strategic development of itʼs CordMatch® platform, the first match-engine for the active and dynamic matching of cord blood units with patients in need. The aim of DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM is to overcome the current necessity for centralized stem cell inventories. This technology will provide transplant centers and treating physicians with a single access point to the worldwide inventory of stem cell preparations, thereby reducing or eliminating the necessity of centralized storage.
DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM will enable transplant centers and treating physicians to timely and efficiently access comprehensive data packages and carry out searches according to customized search criteria without time loss and waste circulation when approaching multiple registries and stem cell banks. DIT - Distributed- Inventory-TechnologyTM is able to seamlessly integrate and consolidate all existing inventory structures as well as single repositories. Cytolon will continue to work alongside clinics, stem cell banks, and registries to develop DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM, as the company has previously done for the development of CordMatch®. Partners of CordMatch® will automatically be integrated into the development of DIT - Distributed-Inventory- TechnologyTM and will benefit immediately from its advantages with no additional costs.
Thomas Klein, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cytolon is confident that this will be a decisive step in the consolidation of data from stem cell banks, including multiple types of stem cell products. “We believe that DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM is an important product that will enable clinics to offer the full variety of optimized and personalized stem cell transplants to patients in need. The core challenge is about the timely and smooth access to the biggest possible variety of transplant solutions for the physician. It is not about the options for repository structures. DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM will provide clinics with such solutions to overcome the challenges involved in offering multiple types of stem cell treatments to patients. We will take further developmental steps in working closely together with clinics, stem cell banks, and registries that are either already partners or have the intention to get in contact with Cytolon. Discussions with leading clinics and academics, as well as stem cell bank and registry professionals had encouraged us to take this important step towards optimal care for patients. We are planning to launch DIT - Distributed-Inventory- TechnologyTM as early as 2012. Important specifications, parts of the IT-structure and our intellectual property program have already been integrated and will be smoothly transferred into the DIT - Distributed-Inventory-TechnologyTM development project.”
