Cytolon Co-Founder Prof. Dr. Joachim Dudenhausen receives Order of Merit
Berlin, November 2nd 2010 – Professor Joachim Wolfram Dudenhausen, co-founder and member of Cytolon´s Supervisory Board and Scientific Advisory Board, received today an Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Dr. Dudenhausen, professor emeritus from the Charité, the biggest and most internationally renowned German University Hospital, has made enormous contributions to the improvement of Medicine Studies in Germany. In 1989, he became Director of the Obstetrical Department at the Virchow-Klinikum from the Charité in Berlin. In 2004, he also led the Obstetrical Department of the Benjamin Franklin Campus at the same institution. From 2007 to March 31st 2010 when he became his emeritus status, he was in charge of the Obstetrical Departments from all 3 campuses of the Charité. Altogether, 60.000 children have been born in his hands.
The Senator for Education and Science said when the Order was granted, that Dr. Dudenhausen always firmly supported the need for strengthening the scientific capabilities of the faculty at the School of Medicine at the Charité.
