Cytolon Closes Its First Round of Financing
Berlin, December 15th, 2009 – Cytolon AG announced today the successful closing of its A-series financing round with institutional and private investors. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed. This investment permits Cytolon to develop their CordMatch® platform, enabling the company to become the world's first trusted source for getting the correct, best-matched cord blood unit (CBU) to the patient that needs it in a timely manner. CordMatch® is positioned to collect, assimilate, facilitate and release information and processes in the crossroads of the personal data and cellular therapeutic markets of regenerative medicine, - in particular the need for adult stem cell products that are tailored to the patient based on the matching of his histocompatibility antigens and genetic needs. Thomas Klein, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cytolon AG, declared "we feel honored to count on such outstanding institutional and private investors for this important phase of the company". Mr. Klein added "we are thrilled to drive the CordMatch® project to the next development phase and to demonstrate the potential of this platform as a tool for matching efficiently and efficaciously the needs of patients with potential donors of Umbilical Cord Blood." About Cytolon AG: Cytolon AG is a private Company based in Berlin, Germany that has developed a proprietary, patent-pending, global, internet-based cord blood brokering platform termed CordMatch®.
