Thomas Klein - Founder & CEO

Thomas Klein is the founder and CEO of Cytolon AG, the first company worldwide to offer intelligent, high performance, internet-based matching platforms to meet the needs of personalized medicine. He focuses on Cytolon’s strategy and corporate development. With more than 20 years of professional experience as an entrepreneur, he has a proven track record in biotechnology and IT. Before establishing Cytolon, he founded NOXXON Pharma AG in 1997, as a spin-off from the Freie Universität, Berlin, successfully setting up a novel pharmaceutical technology platform. Under his leadership the company developed pharmaceutical RNA products from scratch to industry readiness. He concluded multiple large cooperation agreements with pharmaceutical companies. In 2006, Thomas Klein closed a multi-million US Dollar product development deal with Pfizer. Today, NOXXON is one of Germany’s top independent biopharmaceutical companies.
Additionally, he was co-founder of the software company ARCWAY AG. ARCWAY is the first spin-off from the Hasso-Plattner-Institut for IT systems engineering, initiated by Thomas Klein as the seed investor in 2004. Thomas Klein chaired ARCWAY’s supervisory board until 2010 and supported the company through its start-up and growth phases. For more than ten years Thomas Klein was also active as a political leader in the German states of Berlin and Brandenburg. Thomas Klein holds a Master´s degree (M.A.) in History from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

Thomas Klein - Founder & CEO

Thomas Klein is the founder and CEO of Cytolon AG. He focuses on the company’s strategy, business development and marketing of the matching platform CordMatch®. With more than 20 years of professional experience as an entrepreneur, he has a proven track record in biotechnology and IT. Before establishing Cytolon, he successfully founded NOXXON Pharma AG. In addition, he was co-founder and chair of the supervisory board of the software company ARCWAY AG.
Thomas Klein was the CEO of NOXXON Pharma AG for over nine years. He founded the company as a spin-off from the Free University of Berlin in 1997, setting up a novel pharmaceutical technology platform. He concluded multiple large cooperation agreements with pharmaceutical companies. In 2006, Thomas Klein closed a multi million USD product development deal with Pfizer. Today, NOXXON is one of Germany’s top independent bio-pharmaceutical companies. The company has several of its own products in clinical development.
ARCWAY AG was the first spin-off of the Hasso-Plattner-Institut für Softwaresystemtechnik (HPI), initiated by Thomas Klein in 2004 as the seed investor. Thomas Klein chaired ARCWAY’s supervisory board until 2010 and supported the company through its start-up phase and the following expansion phases.

 

Ralf Schliehe-Diecks

Ralf Schliehe-Diecks, M.Sc. – Vice President IT-Systems

Ralf Schliehe-Diecks ist seit Januar 2010 als Vice President IT Systems für die Cytolon AG tätig. Er verantwortet die Abteilung Entwicklung und den Betrieb der IT-Systeme. Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeit ist die Koordination der internationalen IT-Projekte mit Partnerkliniken, Registern, Nabelschnur- blutbanken und IT-Kooperationspartnern wie auch Cytolons amerikanisch-deutschen IT- und Hosting-Partner CSC.
Zuvor war Ralf Schliehe-Diecks der verantwortliche Projektleiter der ARCWAY AG und für den Entwurf der Software-Architektur, die Definitionen der umfangreichen in weltweiten Workshops gewonnenen Spezifikationen sowie der Ausschreibung des Entwicklungs- und des Hostingsvertrages zuständig. Schliehe-Diecks ist ein erfahrener IT-Projektmanager und Business Analyst mit mehr als acht Jahren Leitungs-Erfahrung im IT-Bereich, vor allem in der Spezifizierung von IT-Systemen und der Koordination von IT-Entwicklungs-Teams.
