Prof. Dr. Joachim W. Dudenhausen, FRCOG (Chair)
Dr. Dudenhausen holds a Senior Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical School, New York City. Until March 2010, he was for many years Head of the Obstetrics Clinics of the Charité in Berlin, which boasts more than 5,000 births annually. He is an internationally recognized scientist with more than 500 publications and books. Since 1983, Dr. Dudenhausen has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Dudenhausen holds a multiplicity of national and international awards.
Dr. Juliet N. Barker, MBBS (Hons), FRACP
Dr. Juliet Barker is a bone marrow transplantation specialist with extensive expertise in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. She has more than 15 years of professional experience. As Director of the Cord Blood Transplantation Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, Dr. Barker’s special interest is in the use of unrelated donor umbilical cord blood. She is conducting clinical research focused on double-unit cord blood transplantation. She completed a fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in 1999 and has authored many of the leading publications in the field of cord blood transplantation.
Dr. Christine Günther
Dr. Christine Günther is a physician with more than 20 years of professional experience. She has specialised in clinical haematology and immunology with a special focus and know-how on clinical stem cell transplantation, transplantation immunology and cell therapy. From 2002 to 2008 Dr. Günther has been the Head of Quality Control and Medical Director of a German public stem cell and cord blood bank. In this role, Dr. Günther was in charge of sourcing stem cells and tissue, testing donors, characterizing cell products and testing the applicability to patients. Since 2008 Christine Günther is the CEO of the biotech company Apceth in Munich (Germany). Apceth develops stem cell-based as well as gene therapies. From 2008 to 2010 she was Head of Production of the Eticur Cord Blood Bank in Munich.
